Comfest 2007 Plans

okay. i know most moshers/exmoshers/nonmoshers usually make their plans via sms these days but i thought i'd throw out the idea of putting our comfest plans up on here to get the love happening again. if you're not keen on making love happen, then it's a great way to avoid people who want to see the same shows as you

since i'm bringing this idea up this year, i suppose i should start. my schedule starts on the 10th of april, when i get in rather late and will undoubtedly head right to the bar to get into the spirit of not having to work for almost two weeks. i leave late on the 22nd - not late enough to get a show in, unfortunately, but oh well. here's the rest of my very vague plans. i'm commitment-phobic, so i haven't actually booked anything yet, and probably won't until about a week before.

Wednesday 11th - Puppet Up!
Thursday 12th - Ross Noble.
Friday 13th - Ed Byrne.
Saturday 14th - Stephen K Amos.
Sunday 15th - Adam Hills.
Monday 16th - no plans yet.
Tuesday 17th - Keating! The Musical.
Wednesday 18th - Andrew McClelland.
Thursday 19th - Courteney Hocking.
Friday 20th - Rod Quantock.
Saturday 21st - Tripod.
Sunday 22nd - nothing planned, prolly just faff about the city.

so, what are you doing?

"Deep down you want to get a gun and fucking shoot everyone, but you can't, right?" - Matthew Bellamy, NME Magazine.

"On the other hand, if you add 'le' to a word, it does make it classy...like 'lesbian', the classiest women of them all!" - Captain Hero, Drawn Together.

I'd recommend booking tickets for Puppet Up quite early. A week before might be too late.
Some of your other shows might fill up fast too.

i actually did see Nik coppin last year but i dont have time this year,he was pretty good, but not someone i would see again. Only because there are so many acts to see in melbourne i just like to see new people, with only a very few exceptions, STephen k amos being one of them, and being my fav comedian!!

My birthday as per the usual falls during the Fest. Husband was asking me which shows I want to see. A trip to the Festival is my present. I have a couple of things that I am thinking of seeing, but nothing is really jumping out at me. There are some names that I wouldn't mind seeing, but because they are a name, it costs more.

Any tips for low-cost shows that will be good?

My highlights so far have been Lauren - sorry, Lawrence - Mooney, and Strangelove The Musical. Both pretty cheap and both goddamn awesome. But it's only been a few days, and I'm sure others have seen cool stuff they could tell you about too....

For me, EVAn JONES is the CHEAPIE pick of the bunch, i really enjoyed his show last year and i read somewhere this one is a little interactive, not enought to scare people who dont like the limelight, but just light hearted fun
