Since we're approaching that time again I figured now was a good time to get the ball rolling with the opening of the MICF 2008 forum.

Use this forum to discuss shows you've seen, shows you're thinking of seeing or shows you think everyone should avoid seeing! Plan MOSH meets, find cheap accomodation details and discuss all the ComFest news-y things.

I dunno. Talk and stuff. You know what to do by now.

MICF 2008 begins 19th March and ends 13th April!

And a reminder to all the comedians lurking here that the Moosehead Awards application deadline is next Wednesday.

WEll, since next year is going to be my graduate year, and first year of working, i plan to like take a few days off, or swap a few days so that I can go to the MICF for the first time in my life.

I wanted to go there last year, coz my Mum took my sister to see the Lion King, and didnt take me and they got to stay at The Windsor. I was soo bloody jealous. I didnt care if i flew with them or not! I just wanted to go and see lano and woodley at their last ever MICF, but she wouldnt pay for me. Even when I said i had flight money, she wouldnt let me go! I was soo peeved! More about the fact thta she was taking my sister and not me..she never did that stuff when I was lving at home and her reason was that if i had been living at home, id have gone too...but then she would never have thought of going to Melbourne to see the Lion King!!!

But anyway, I'd prob be staying in some backpackers hostel, probably um whats that one right next to the Queen Vic..not Hotel bakpak but the other one...the name has gone,..but its a flashpack one. its not base, but the other newish one......NOMADS thats the one!! Just walk out the door and its right at the markets where they filmed the Extra haha-me and my friends got so excited when we saw how close we were staying to those markets lol.

They closed it down! I may've been the last one!

Based on the above, a really crap (and possibly deadly) backpackers hostel is called the Carlton. It is now closed to the relief of everyone.

It had it's benefits, though:

Great Debate tickets are already on sale. Along with various other shows - http://www.comedyfestival.com.au/shop/

I'm a little annoyed, I've been checking the site for ages, keeping an eye on the debate to see if tickets were up yet, and they didn't officially announce them going on sale, just that they were already available. The main page for the debate doesn't have a link to buy them or anything either. I only found out because of the email that went out today.

I'm also still dubious about the Gala being at the Vodafone Arena this year...very rarely can comedy successfully be an "arena spectacular"...

Comedy in an arena? Yuk. S'pose they'll make more money out of it, though. Reckon they'll fill it?

In one day, they've sold all but single seats in the main A reserve floor area, so I'd say yes, they quite possibly will...
