Since it seems none of the folk who are going has started one yet, I thought I'd get the ball rolling on the roll call of who is and is not going to this year's ComFest, and what you're planning on seeing, if you're headed that way.

Once again, I will not be going to ComFest myself, but am definitely looking forward to the ComFest Gala and the special episode(s?) of Good News Week that will be recorded during the festival.

Anyone else want to share their plans?

Well, we're getting Ross Noble tickets as a wedding present... I think for the 11th of April. Other than that, no plans. Will see how we feel after the wedding I reckon. Not really all that many shows I'm dead keen to see...

21/3 - Frank Woodley
22/3 - Ross Noble
23/3 - Spicks & Specks

Was going to come back for GNW but really couldn't justify the flight costs

If anyone wants to meet up for Dinner on Monday 24/3, lets make a plan!!

My shortlist is about 55 shows and various other things *G*

Particularly looking forward to:

Shane Warne the Musical (Eddie Perfect)
The Delusionists
Daniel Townes
Justin Hamilton
Fiona O'Loughlin
The Lift
Axed
And Scod and the Universe at Trades.I'm sure there's more things that I can't think of at the moment, and I'm going to see a LOT of other stuff, naturally. I'll post reviews if I remember *G*

I'll be down for a week March 30 - April 6. So far I've only bought tickets to the comedy debate, but I have a long list of shows to see...I just can't remember where I put that list.

I'm definitely keen to find out what the lift is like. Even if I tend to get claustrophobic when there's more than two people in a lift with me.

Alisso: I saw the Delusionists 'Everything that ever happened ever' at Parramatta last week. It's not quite as good as last year's show, but they still do fantastic religious humour.

I though I was going, but it turns out I'm going to be in Melbourne some time in the week after the festival is finished. I should learn to read calendars, or something...

I'll be in Melbourne for Easter and seeing Frank Woodley, Spicks & Specks Remix, Mark Watson and Spamalot. May be tempted to see Tom Gleeson as a filler.

Back home I'll be seeing Ross Noble and more Spicks & Specktacular!

Going to Kitson and Pickering at this stage, and 'Sucker Punch' of course! Will inevitably go to more on a whim when the fest is actually on.

Some of these clash with the show i am working on (Brendan Lovechild : "I Wish I'd Never Been A Chicken" - 2 4 1 tix on the 19th March btw if anyone is keen, I would also highly recommend it!! - see separate thread in MICF 2008 forum for more details)

But these are the shows I recommend...

* Die Roten Punkte
* Meat The Musical (Amelia Jane Hunter/Hannah Gadsby)
* She'll Be Right (Mandy Nolan)
* Unrepentant (Anthony Morgan)
* Silent Disco

I saw Anthony Morgan last night, and can't WAIT for "Unrepentant". He was veering wildly between finding redemption, and spouting poisonous vitriol. Excellent.

I'm going 3-13 April. I only realised in the middle of last week that I haven't got a programme yet, so put my name on the mailing list on Wednesday. Hopefully it's in the mail now...

Haven't really had a good look at the shows available but Shane Warne the Musical sounds interesting. I saw a few shows in Adelaide when I was there for a wedding a couple of weeks ago (Charlie Pickering, Corinne Grant, Frank Woodley) so that's freed up a bit of time in Melbourne.

Also saw Wil Anderson in Sydney last night. You know, something about that show tells me he hasn't gotten over breaking up with his girlfriend yet...
