I love most instruments, particularly guitar and drums. Having said that though I don't like every band that features a guitar and a drum kit or I'd have quite an impressive record collection.

I admire musicians like the Tea Party, such a diverse range of instruments. They have so much talent as do the John Butler Trio.

hrrrmmm music i like... i like a lot! i find most of my stuff leaning towards piano/keyboard based or accompanied, but love good guitar playing.
and music that carries you. and pretty well anybody with talent, who loves their music, regardless what it is. cos you can so tell.
but having said all that i can still enjoy a catchy song that was done specifically to be a catchy song. as long as its catchy i love great singers specially unique sounding ones.
hell i just love music. pretty much any if theres any talent involved.

magnar and cherryish, i adore *make the world safe for you* and i so get what you mean by spine tingling stuff. Yep, INXS *Never tear us apart* is truly one of my favourite songs of all time.

If anyone can detect a common theme between my favourite artists, tell me what it is, and then we'll both know.  There's David Bowie, Robbie Williams, Mr. Bungle, The Cure, Queen, The Proclaimers, Lou Reed.  I'm also a sucker for soundtracks to musicals.  Oh, and the soundtrack to [i:post_uid0]Priscilla[/i:post_uid0].  I think it's the only non-original-musical soundtrack I like. *g*

I don't think you were seriously asking us to look for a theme, but, uh, alternative lifestyle choices seems to be a recurring feature. Lou is bisexual, Freddie was gay. There has at least at one time or another been big question marks over Bowie and Williams. Priscilla is about drag queens. Uh, The Cure wore lipstick. Mr Bungle... yeah, I've lost it. But let me just say that I like your taste in music. I especially like Lou and Bowie out of your list.

*bounces in* did I hear the words "Make the World Safe" by the Whitlams? *faints* That is in the top three favourite Whitlams songs of mine. I'm sure you all needed to know that.

Thank-You is my all time favourite. I love the bit with "You and me and the holy ghost"

And Blow up the Pokies. Dad's a publican.. I am itching to play it full blast over his sound system. *g* and he likes the song.. well he did until I told him the name.

But then lots of other songs come close to my top three.

Any other Whits fans want 2 answer?

I'm boring & dull. What I like, mainly what's playing on JJJ (hey its better than the shit stations we get here that play 2-3 songs every half an hour), though teenyboppery stuff makes me want to break something. At the moment I've got Paulmac's 3000 feet high on the CD player & for some strange reason feel like playing some Neil Diamond or Simon & Grafunkal or something like that.
I like Area 7's newy. Nobody likes a Bogan (sorry about the spelling) & something else I can'te be bothered remembering
I'm sorta into the Comedy stuff & am a DAAS-a-holic (durr), though Lano & Woodley's song that was repeated on the Breaky Show today made my mum turn the radio off with the muttering 'that's sick'. Gee's better not let her near my CD's or vids.

That's my shitty selection (PS Didn't we have something like this a while back but with bands???)

How could I even narrow it down to three Whitlams songs?! My mum is crazy about them too so it's good when they come to Adelaide she pays for my ticket because she likes to go too. When they were here promoting 'Love this city' Tim signed my copy of 'Thank you/Blow up the pokies' and touched my hand in the process.

I'm a bit of what the teen mags would call a mish-mash maiden... I like bit of everything. Of course I lurve the Dougs (der) but basically my music code goes thus: if it's good, I like it.
Though, over the past few years I've been leaning towards rock... my fave songs at the moment are Chop Suey by System Of A Down and In The End by Linkin Park. Though my fave love song atm is Aniron, of course..

Ummm *thinks*...a little bit of everything really.
Musicals, 60s stuff, classical, some opera, swing, and of course the usual embarrassing stuff from movies like Labyrinth *blushes*.

In terms of modern stuff I'd have to go with Something for Kate, Alex Lloyd, Lo-Tel, Elbow, The Whitlams, GooGoo Dolls etc etc...I've been told my taste is "very weak alternative". Oh joy ;-P

Ozzy Osbourne: Let me put it this way - I don't need a laxative.
