man i've been avoiding this topic (too many deaths recently) but i was just watching the screenguild awards and i had no idea that Jonathon Brandis had died. I was shocked! wow man, i was totally in love with him in the early nineties, from NESII to seaquest and even ladybugs. suicide at 27. it's a shame

and apparently Gene Anthony Ray who played Leroy in "Fame" died too. of complications of a stroke. age 41

It's an unusual form of successful suicide, but not unheard of. People who attempt it via stabbing don't always succeed, and when they do it's rarely from a single attempt, but often due to loss of blood from multiple stab wounds as they "try to get it right".
Homicides by sharp object also invariably result in more than one stab injury, as well as the victim usually having "defensive wounds" on their hands and forearms from attempting to fend off the blow.

A single, fatal, stab wound is therefore quite possibly a suicide, rather than homicide.

Cecily Adams was Moogie and Paul Winfield played the Captain of the Reliant(?) in Wrath of Khan (got one of those worm things put in his ear with Chekov) and some other alien in one of the series. He was also Dr Franklin's father in B5.

I saw a 'based on a true story' type movie recently called 'Vatel' where this guy was working for the King of France as the 'master of ceremonies', or some such, for all the fancy royal shin-digs. He killed himself by stabbing because the fish didn't arrive on time.
