Anyway, the link to the program is here. I'd post it in Comedy News, Dates, and Special Offers, but it's more musical than comedic. Highlights include GUD, The Gadflys, and Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen. http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/searc...geltent&page=1

Thanks a bunch for that Haggis. Because I have left my brain in a jar I was somewhat lost as to where to look for that particular information.... So, ta.

Interviewer: Dave Grohl said that Songs for the Deaf is the best album he's ever played on. Wasn't that guy in Nirvana? Josh Homme: He says all the time, "I was in fuckin' Nirvana, man." And I tell him, "OK, buy me something."

MY God!! I now worship at the altar of the Gadflys ![]() It was fantastic, I was amazed and then they brought guests up on stage. Mikelangelo now I cant' wait for Tuesday, and when Mick called out for Cameron, I was so glad I got my wish of seeing him play that gorgeous grand piano.* Smuffy and I really felt that we should have apologised to Mick for giggling the entire way through Ruby though ![]() * Oh and incase people think that I am only impressed because my own personal music god was there, it's not true, I was in love before he was there, and once he left stage I was in fact able to forget that he was there at all during some of the magnificent songs

Yay ... another convert! The Gaddies are bloody brilliant aren't they! How come Cameron was playing too though - did he just happen to be in the audience or is he kind of an honorary Gadfly? (Gudfly?) Why were you giggling through 'Ruby' - or don't I wanna know? :p Anyway yay and congratulations to Beckslee being converted! *Shoves everyone along to make room at the altar - where instead of incense there's a cigarette burning and instead of communal wine there's a cold beer ala Gadflys' staple diet...* Sorry - I think I got the Monday crazies again...

Cambo's played with them a couple of times before, at the spinning wheel, just because he can I think, and his solo during Ruby was really nice. Ahhh jazz piano, it's such a wonderous thing We were giggling during Ruby, because that's the song that Mick sang in Gud, during which Paul and Cam, were usually touching each other up or making out or something. Cold beer? ok Mick was drinking it, but Phil had coffee hehe the cigarette only came out during the encore. one of the things that was really great was the way they just kept swapping instruments throughout the gig, even mid-song.

LOL you sure Phil wasn't just drinking beer from a coffee cup? Yeah the instrument swapping is one of my favourite things about the Gadflys. It's so cool the way they do it too, totally casual, like they are just rehearsing in someone's lounge room. I get the impression they kind of make it up as they go along, although they do seem pretty polished so maybe not. I have never heard Cameron play jazz piano - and I lurrrve jazz - so I am green with envy!

Seeing the gadflys at the spiegeltent in Edinburgh was on of this years highlights for me, yup becs they are bloody fantastic! I saw them the 3 times they performed and the amount of guests they had come up and play with them was great (and cambo on the grand piano...very posh haha),. The best part of the last night was the compare coming over the PA saying, "and a big round of applause for the Gadflys" and Phil going, "actually we have a few more numbers" and they kept playing much to the excitement of the crowd and the annoyance of the manager haha.

You've got yourselves another convert right here, too. I saw 'em in Edinburgh, not something I intended to see, but it was me first night, I met some new friends, and I fell in love (with the Music, Dermo, the Music. And the tent.) Saw them twice inside and once outside the Speigeltent, and then at the Spinning Wheel on my final night. Came back to Melbourne and doubled my CD collection buying only GadFlys CDs. When I went to see the show on Sunday, I almost couldn't beleive the numbers. In Edinburgh they had it set up with all tables, so seeing just rows and rows of seats, all filled was a surprise. And they were filled by the time I got there. Damn daylight savings, especially when it makes me an hour late for my new favourite band. On the plus side I kept bumping into people I recognised, standing up in back.

*waves* Another convert over here!! Beckslee (on seeing the grand piano): 'It'd be great if Cameron got to play that.' Mick: 'Is Mr Cameron Bruce in the house?' Beckslee, Haggis and me (looking at each other very excitedly) Pete: 'Well, those three have heard of him!' I spent my lunchbreak monday hunting for a Gadflys cd, put it on at work, and it's been playing ever since. The boss came in today and said that he wanted to have music playing throughout the shop so the customers could hear it! Maybe there's a few more!

Lack of opportunity to see them live (I have a thing about going to gigs alone, I like to be able to reminisce with people, not piss them off by talking about stuff they don't know...oh....wait...I do that anyway!!!).

I too have a hard time getting people to come to gigs with me - i think my friends are embarrassed to be seen with me because of my hunchback... (Kapital reference for us oldies) It's a pity you aren't in NSW or the problem would be solved! I have found the easiest way to do it is to bribe said friends by shouting them the ticket ... also serves a dual purpose if they have a b'day coming up So glad there are other converts too! I didn't watch GNW that much so I missed them but ventured out to see 'em one time after hearing Mick sing in GUD, and was blown away. They are brilliant live! And I also have all the CDs now thanks to the wonders of the internet and CD online. So, who is heading to Sydney to see GUD or the Gadflys in the Spiegeltent? (look out for me - I will be the one with the hunchback :p )
