Man shot dead by police

A man who allegedly threw weapons at police has died after being shot by an officer in regional Victoria.

Police said they were called to a house in Ballarat following reports of an altercation between occupants at about 2.30am (AEDT).

The man, aged in his 50s, allegedly threw a tomahawk and a knife at police outside the house in Elizabeth Street, Wendouree, and approached them in a threatening manner.

Officers used capsicum spray to no avail before the man was shot in the upper body, police said.

The man was taken to hospital but did not survive the shooting.

It's Irreversible (being helpful, not critical), what is with these french film directors making films that are almost unbearable to watch? Even Basi Moi caused problem when it came out here (for about a week, before the film board took it away, for being too sexually violent)

i agree with you Mythor, why pay money for a film you know you can't stomach, did they stay to get their money's worth or to prove this person wasn't "chicken"

Which comes down to no Muslim head scarves, no Jewish skull caps and no large Christian crosses. But little ones are just fine. They claim it's to help fight Islamic Fundamentalism and intergrate people into French society. The girls from more conservative muslim families are just going to love the intergration or not being able to go to school or having to attend private schools because they're not permitted to leave the house without a head scarf.
