| MOSHer | i'm really really hoping that weezer are going to play. they've got their new album out and they've toured everywhere but australia *fingers crossed* as for franz ferdinand, i'd love to see them again. they're supposed to be releasing another album shortly, mebe just in time for a combined australian/bdo tour. i don't even care who's playing next year, i'm going. i was spewing this year that i didn't get a ticket and then realised how many bands i wanted to see, AFTER the show was over. | ||

| defective lunatic | RAMMSTEIN!!! *dies of squee* oh man, if this is true, i will so fork out the 3 trillion dollars it costs for bdo just for the sake of rammstein. would also love to see s.o.a.d., u2 and beck, but this list contains too many headliners for all my touring dreams to come true. | ||

As for The Pixies, I'd say that is a very optimistic rumour. Their reunion "World Tour" came nowhere near Oz.

| MOSHer | A boring, predictable word of warning: Rumours around this time mean nothing at all. Before my first BDO in 2002 everyone on the BDO and V forums mentioned so many bands and got so many people excited that I felt very jaded when I bought into a couple of the rumours and harumphed in a very middle-aged fashion by the time the official announcement was made. I've since refused to listen to anything unless it was reported by Lees & West's publicity team. I've still really enjoyed myself all the times I've been. As for Rammstein, in interviews with Triple J around the time Reise, Reise was released, they said it was pretty much guaranteed they'd tour Oz in 2006 - didn't say whether it'd be a BDO show or another sort of national tour though. I don't care which it is, I'm definitely going. Germans + Music + Fire = Yay. Last edited by Danny Boy; 14-08-2005 at 10:28 PM. Reason: Chronic longsentencitis. | ||

| MOSHer | Oh dear God not Oasis. Please no. Nine Inch Nails are touring nowish, really can't see them coming out again that quickly - as much as I would love to see them. The Weezer rumour had better be true though. You know what, having read the list properly, there are a heap of bands that don't make sense on that list. NIN and Marilyn Manson on the same line-up? I would've thought that Marilyn would want to stay away from his old (and much better) band. Try to get some cred! ACDC were rumoured for last year. And were they there? And why would they be there? There's too many bands on that list that have been around for too long, and not enough 'newbies'. I'm with Danny Boy on this one. Last edited by smuffy; 24-08-2005 at 06:13 PM. Reason: Read the list again. And again! | ||

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 3 | Just to make a point to everyone, I am not stating that all if ANY of these bands will be coming to the BDO...therefore the word RUMOR. Rumor: "A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth." People in this thread keep whinging, saying that these bands DEFINATELY aren't coming...thats probably true, but can;t a person have HOPE?! *cries in corner for music...I like music*

| MOSHer | According to my friend who works at Channel V, Weezer are touring Nov/Dec this year. And from the same source, Coldplay are doing a separate tour here just after Big Day Out as well. Feb/Mar. No way are Oasis/NIN/Garbage/U2/ACDC/Foo Fighters/Audioslave coming for BDO - they all have separate tours booked in the months preceding or following the festival here. However, Rammstein look very likely. Friends of mine in their fan club have been saying they are coming to BDO 2006 for about 1.5 years. Hope Franz Ferdinand come out. Ummmm... is Livid dead and buried now? | ||

| MOSHer | alas, yes. the guys that started it in brisbane have no specific plans to bring it back next year, and it would take a shitload of money to get it back up again now, even back to its tiny one-show brisbane roots, let alone the east coast tour. the street press up here has just assumed it's gone. died. bdo 2006 can't be any worse than 2005 (metallica?), so bring it on, I say. | ||
