10 Things to know about Me . . .

I find this thread really interesting seeing as I dont know most of you... It's kind of fun to find out random things about people. MY TURN.

1. I saw Playschool LIVE when I was in pre-school (my first gig...I didn't steal any posters)
2. I played saxophone for 5 years, and guitar for 5 years (and counting...both)
3. I have a phobia of the number 6.
4. I have a tattoo of the star of affinity (chili peppers logo) on my back.
5. I have been with my beautiful girl friend for 1 year and 8 months and our realationship gets better every day.
6. I also have never smoked, or touched drugs (other than booze) and have never been tempted.
7. I go to Uni and do a MultiMedia course. It is fun.
8. I can't compliment myself or acknowladge if I am good at anything (cause I'm not...:P)
9. I have never been involved in a fight, and rarely argue/get angry...I don't see the use.
10. I love life and everything it entails. People are wonderful even when they are angry.

1. Despite my appearance, I'm not a very good geek. I don't like ANY series of Star Trek & I haven't yet seen Star Wars Ep.3. Will they revoke my Geek Licence?

2. I've played D&D only twice. Didn't really get it & was quite bored.

3. I'm a self confessed Tightarse, but I'm quite happy to spend cash to see multiple comedy shows each week.

4. Never touched cigarettes or drugs (except booze). Don't know anyone who has done drugs either (either I lead a very sheltered life or my acquaintances are good at hiding the fact).

5. No tattoos or piercings. I'm a wuss when it comes to pain (& the tightarse thing too).

6. I don't really GET other people, so Daniel Kitson is probably my role model.

7. I can't stand public speaking, so I have no idea why I have started doing stand up!

8. When I was about 16, I broke my Collarbone when I fell off my bike. I also had concussion, so I didn't remember speaking to my cousin as passed by their house as I rode home (one handed).

9. I definitely don't have a singing voice, so don't expect to see me at Karaoke any time soon.

10. I have no pets. Growing up I had various suicidal Goldfish & a Budgie.

1. i care about animals, specifically my catchild, more than people.

2. i love hard rock music that manages to throw in an orchestra. that type of music is pure bliss to me.

3. i'm pansexual - i'm attracted to people beyond sex or gender binaries - but i normally say i'm bi just to keep from having to give an instantaneous queer theory lecture. i love talking about it, but everyone looks funny at me when i do.

4. i prefer fresh green grapes to chocolate.

5. i used to have a small cyst in my neck, about the size of a marble. as it was just underneath the skin, i'd play with it whenever i was nervous or deep in thought. i had it removed last year, but i still sometimes go to play with the spot where it used to be.

6. my worst memory holds the viewpoint of the fridge in my old house, for some reason. i see/remember things from where the fridge was, not from where i was. odd.

7. earlier this year, i had three separate dreams in which planes fell out of the sky. every plane i've seen thereafter has looked dangerously wobbly to me.

8. i have a scar on my left index finger from cutting myself whilst trying to cut a block of cheese when i was 6 or so. i gushed blood everywhere and, when i was telling my dad about it later, i told him my blood was purple.

9. my first aim in life is to own a two or three storey townhouse with a bayswiss navy daybed and a library. my second aim is to be the neighbourhood crazy old cat lady that lil kids get spooked over.

10. art galleries are my most favourite places, and the national gallery in canberra tops this list.

1. I broke my arm when I was six because I thought it'd be a good idea to take the cushion insert from a toddler car seat and sit on the boot when Dad was parking the car. It wasn't a good idea.

2. I used to be a choir boy. There's me in them Qantas ads... to the right, up the back, somewhere close to Uluru in the second ad of 2000-ish or at the back in the Kings Canyon shoot of the first ad in about 1999-ish. None of this selling out crap - I was there from the start! However, I was far too tall and ugly to be one of those excruciating kids leering at the camera in the exotic locations.

3. I'm obsessed with Regurgitator. I think it started after hearing 'The Song Formerly Known As' around 1997/8, and has since resulted in me seeing them five times. It doesn't sound that impressive, but there was a length of time when they didn't do many gigs and I just turned 18 last October. I have no idea why I love the band so much any more, it's like washing, or farting in lifts and staring angrily at fellow elevated commuters - it comes naturally.

4. I am unashamedly chicken. This isn't in terms of life or stuff like that, but doing stuff like abseiling (ungh, the memories from Year 9 camp!) and going into pubs when not the age of 18 yet without a parent and/or guardian.

5. I have no definite idea in regard to what I want to do with my work life... like 'most' of us, I'm considering stand-up, but I'd rather be doing gig manufacture (producing events, Danny B-style - check it) or being some sort of freelance et ceterologist; being paid for writing polemics in newspapers, spinning shit on the wireless, getting miscellaneous scribblings placed in black letters on various white fibrous material, etc.

6. I am a chronic procrastinator, but I'm also highly organised. It's an absolutely weird contradiction, and results in massive stress in short periods, and intense relaxation in others. Uni stuff always gets done, but... nyeargh. Main point for #6: weird work habits.

7. I go goo-goo-gah-gah over all music, as long as it's honest, has artistic clarity and is played too loud. Of course, I still have my petty hates like Ben Lee and Missy Higgins, Emo and several others, but I like to think of myself as a musically reasonable person.

8. I've played trumpet since 2000, but can't be bothered practising regularly any more. I still do every now and then when I feel guilty about all the money that's been poured into the bloody piece of brass - I want results; I am not a government initiative.

9. I never want to buy a car, even though I have my licence. It's not the environmental impetus, or even the financial one, though I pull those cards when justifying it to people when I tell them. Cars are just unjustifiable assets to me... sure, the independence is good, but... blah blah blah. You know what I mean.

10. I tried to learn Mandarin (yeah, the Chinese language) in first semester this year, my first year of BA at Melbourne Uni. It didn't work. I'd never learnt a language properly before, except for German and Indonesian quarter-arsedly in high school. The teachers at school were half-arsed, so I figure my learning must have been half that again. The day before the Pass/Fail Death Date, I withdrew so I didn't have to have an 'F' on my record until later on. Delay the pain... delay the pain.

1. I can Juggle. I also own a unicycle.

2. I have read Harry Potter a few hundred times, nothing to be embarrassed about.

3. The 2 things I have any fear for are unsecured ladders and roosters.

4. I turned down the oppertunity to perform comedy at tropfest last year.

5. I want to have a baby.

6. I have 3 dogs, 2 birds and a turtle and am not satisfied. I want more damnit!

7. I don't drink alcohol or do drugs.

8. I hate having water running over my face.

9. My husband believes that I own too many childrens movies (especially since I bought Sesame Streets "Follow that Bird")

I don't post much, but never pass up an opportunity to embarrass myself, so here goes . . .

1. I have never broken a bone, strained a muscle, or had stitches, and hate human gore. However, I am perfectly happy to watch it if it's animated, and when I was 6 I watched my mother get stitches. Go figure.

2. I've never done drugs or smoked, as I find it filthy, and get very aggravated when people smoke around me.

3. I'm slightly agoraphobic. And it's getting worse.

4. I was having a 'something' (can't call it a relationship, 'cause he was a fuckknuckle) with a student teacher before, and shortly after, he came to work at my school. I'm now going out with a guy who teaches school kids how to draw manga, and he taught a class of this at my school as well. My friends don't trust me around teachers anymore . . .

5. The first guy I was ever involved with was 5 years older than me, and my current boyfriend is 8 years older than me. And I'm still a minor. ^^;;

6. My best friend lives in Canberra, and I've never met her.

7. Before I was about 3, I had no depths perception and my eyes worked completely independently from each other. My parents thought I was mentally challenged because I kept walking into things. Then they realised I was cross-eyed and long-sighted.

8. I crack the shits when I see spelling mistakes. They drive me insane, especially in formal documents. I spell check everything, including signs on shop windows, textbooks, essays from friends and television ads. I still use "an" in front of words that begin with u's and h's, and I throw my posts through word's spell check to pic up something I may have mistyped before posting.

9. I have an intense fear of dogs, because I was attacked when I was 5, and thrown into a wall. I hate being in the same room as one, and will leave if it barks. I also have an intense fear of vomiting, so much so that I always leave parties before people have the opportunity to burden me with their excessive natures.

10. I talk to mirrors (though never if the room is dark, 'cause then they might talk back), and inanimate objects. I have a pet potplant called Chiaki-kun, which, incidentally, is the character I'm cosplaying as this year at Manifest. ^_^

Well here goes...

1: I am obsessed with netball. I coach, umpire, play, watch and have the co-ordination of a 3 year old so I am always breaking and injuring bits of myself or other players. So far I have sustained fractures to the 5th metatarsals in both feet, my ring finger, my coccyx, have been KO twice, have a floating piece of bone and further bony injury to my R ankle among others. I also broke a lady's nose with my head once. I love non contact sport.

2: I love being in hospitals and airports.

3: I have a major depressive disorder and/or bipolar, and an anxiety disorder manifesting mostly as social phobia. It has been suggested (by psychiatrists, doctors and or nurses) but never substantiated that I have delusions and am alcohol dependant.

4: I drink (obviously) but am pretty much a non smoker now. I haven't been stoned in a while, probably two months. Other than that, I don't really know anything about drugs.

5: I like cars. I own one and will drive any car that I can. I taught myself how to drive a manual and now hate automatics. I believe that all fords should be burnt.

6: I am so in love with my boyfriend and have no idea how to tell him! I wonder if he feels the same, and being a mentalcase, it is near impossible to stop analysing and panicking about everything he does but I never ever tell him what I actually think for fear it would wreck our already fragile relationship.

7: I failed year ten maths and was recommended for business maths in year 11 (he told me I'd fail maths studies), so to spite the teacher I took three semesters worth of maths studies in yr 11 and did maths 1 in yr 12. I passed them all with my lowest mark being a 15.

8: I cry really easily. Like, way over emotional. I need a box of tissues to make it through Oprah or Dr. Phil or a netball final, it's so pathetic! I am so highly strung sometimes that just one fleeting thought will mean I physically cannot leave the house for hours. other times i'm quite thick skinned and i'm fine. Funnily enough, if I spend ages getting ready and put makeup on etc., even just to go to the bank, i am more confident.

9: I love acryllic nails.

10: One of my favourite movies is Ameilie.
