Look at a newspaper or watch the 5 o'clock news and there's death, starvation, homelessness, war, hurt, hate, destruction, disasters, predjudice. You name it, it's there.

I'm kinda sick of it, to be honest and it really depresses me when I think about the reality of the rest of the world. I'm not going to ignore it, because that's the worst possible thing society can do, but I'm not going to let it get me down. I like to try and do my little bit to help causes, but I think it's also important to start with looking out for yourself.

There's so much depression in the world at the moment. Everyone feels it at some point in the lives... So I think it's important to stop and think about the little things that make us, as individuals happy. Once we get that sorted, we can save the rest of the world...

So... I invite everyone to share with the rest of MOSH a few of their favourite things...

• I like getting a fresh new hairstyle/cut and walking down the street feeling good.
• I like my new piercing.
• I like how the sun shines and my birds sing when I'm outside.
• I like talking to random strangers and making them smile.
• I like buying my family and pets small gifts to make their day that little bit nicer.
• I like watching people interact.
• I like the wind on my face
• I like knowing that I'm doing things because *I* want to do them.
• I like cuddling my friends.
• I like surprising people.

I'm carrying a small cardboard man in those photos because I've got a friend in Texas whose 8 year old son's class is doing the Flat Stanley project and I volunteered to take photos of his Flat Stanley around Melbourne.

* I like the moment when you realise the person you like likes you too

* I like days where I don't have to get out of bed

Holy shit, I discovered these at Safeway just the other day. They're even better if you microwave your slice for a bit. I went back the other day and they didn't have any so I threw myself onto the floor and had a giant tanty. (Nearly.)

• I like spending time with people who actually seem to like me
• I like seeing my own hard work and effort pay off
• I like my job cause I'm good at it and the people I work for are nice to me
• I like walking to music
• I like my life at the moment

I like lots of other things too but I'll stop now before it all gets out of control *G*

I got one at Coles and it's not half as good as the one I got from Safeway. The missing layer of custard makes all the difference.

Comedy (duh)
Wolfmother and Queens of the Stoneage
Receiving Mail or phone calls (very rare for me)
My cat lickin my feet (really weird feeling and he does it a lot so ive gotton used to it
Playing chasie with my cat who had a stroke. He always ends up falling over and then i trip over him and we both end up face down in the dirt.
Having friends over to what Lano and Woodley's The Island
nickin poster off walls eg lano and woodley or gud or general comedy posters then bolting out of the room.
reciting Carl Barron at appropriate moments: passing on the left, walking on the right stoppin by the river looking at the ducks morning

and various other things i cant remember

i like that my hair is red.
i like asking people what the cd they're playing is, and then having a two hour conversation with them about awesome types of music.
i therefore like the artic monkeys
i like introducing people to new bands, and getting called 'punk rocker' because of it.
i like being an emo kid.
i like my new docs, even though they give me blisters.
i like my new handbag, because it's made from black pvc and a hologram that shows cameras when you tilt it one way, and an xray of a hand when you tilt it the other.
i like that i bought both in london.
i like london; camden, bayswater and westminister especially.
i like montmartre, and i like that my metro stop steps were in 'Amelie'.
i like that i'm out of rome and never have to return.
i like snow, ice and winter sports.
i like fleur-de-lys wallpaper.
i like the thought of returning to the uk, and to europe.
i like my passport.
i like danny wallace's book "random acts of kindness" and think everyone should read it.
i like that the person i've loved for ages definitely loves me!
