The next round is up for tipping.

Was watching last night and hoping that Ghana would win. They played pretty well, they just kept missing the goal every time they tried to score. Their goal keeper was good, except for the fact he'd leave the goal post leaving the goal wide open for Brazil to score goals.

Listening to the commentators last night, after Ronaldo got a goal which was clearly offside, which hadn't been noticed by the refs, the commentators were saying 'when isn't there a game in which controversy has arisen'. He then went on to say how human error was apart of the game and made it more exciting. I dunno, i think it makes the games more slack.

Germany v Argentina is on tonight at 1am with Italy v Ukraine at 5am. Don't forget to put your tips in!

I'm trying to come up with a way to be awake at 5am on a Saturday morning so I can cheer for Ukraine.
Even Anthony LaPaglia, a long time supporter of Italy in the World Cup (because Australia never makes it!) hopes they lose tonight.

I can't believe that both Brazil and England lost. I have been tipping Brazil to win -- always, no exceptions. I tip England to win and hope like hell that they do.

Now they are both out of the comp. I don't know what to do. Tip the country I hate the least?

Oh, husband made a comment on it. The semis are full of a bunch of Europeans. No Latin Americans, no Africans, no Aussies... just a bunch of Euros.

Next round tips are up... just so you know.

Aww man, I can't believe England lost the penalty shootout.
Oh well. Rooney kicking that guy in the nuts still made the match worth watching.

If I tip Italy to win, am I a traitor?

Depends. If you have a good tipping record, then yes, yes you are.

If the teams you tip almost always lose, go ahead, give Italy the kiss of death

Oh the quandary... I am currently in the top 5 (okay, okay... I'm 4th). Do I tip to be on top or tip to be loyal to my adopted-country? You know, as a American, we want to be both loyal and right. Damn it all to hell.

I hope that Italy goes down in flames, but I might tip them to win anyway.

Oh, next 2 rounds of tips are up... 3rd place final and the final. Good luck!

I can’t really agree with that. Just because Italy didn’t deserve to win in the manner in which they did doesn’t mean they weren’t going to win at all. I can’t imagine Australia would have beaten them in a penalty shootout.

There would have been extra time first before the penalty shootout. Another half hour in which to score a goal may have given Australia time to put one of their many chances in. Who knows.

The final has, as predicted, become the International Grass Diving Championship, since it's Italy v France. Sigh.
