Hey all... I have always avoided Internet Explorer like it will give crabs. I have to use it at school because they frown on d/l'ing other browsers, and it is still crap. So way back when I used Netscape. Then I came to Opera, and loved it. Then everyone was talking about Firefox so I trialed. I converted. Firefox was better. Currently, Firefox is what I normally use. Since Safari works on Windows systems, we have downloaded it and are trying it out. It is the same process as above of me changing over to Firefox. I like Safari. It has some cool features, and it works a lot like Firefox. However, it doesn't have all the cool add-ons that I have on my Firefox. I have the American and Aussie dictionary/spellcheck on Firefox. I am not the best speller, and when I didn't have this add-on, dictionary.com was my best friend on the net. The add-on underlines misspelled words and offers corrections. Safari doesn't seem to offer this (or I am too stupid to find it). The dictionary is just one of the many add-ons that I can't seem to find for Safari. I really want to like and use Safari, but Firefox is just better at this stage. So after this long and drawn out explanation, has anyone else been using Safari (either on Apple or Windows)? Does anyone know where to get cool add-ons for Safari, esp. a dictionary/spellcheck? Have any Firefox users made the switch? Any other thoughts, ideas, complaints, etc. would be appreciated.

| MOSHer | I was using Safari, now just go for Firefox all the way. All the customisation stuff is th' bomb, and the spell check has certainly saved me on a few occasions. I relate to Safari as if it's Apple's IE. It's better than IE, because I'm an Apple bigot, but it's still a stock standard unimaginative browser, IMO. Don't know anything about Safari add-ons because I haven't felt the need. My advice: stick to Firefox! ![]() | ||

First day it was out MASSIVE SECURITY HOLES were discovered, proving once and for all that Apple is only secure because nobody can be bothered. ![]() Haven't actually used it, Firefox does what I need so I've not seen a good reason to switch, other than it's new and it does some of the stuff Firefox can do.

| MOSHer | i am running one of the new intel based macs. one of the first programs i installed was firefox cause it was so good on my pc. however, i started noticing firefox constantly freezing, to the point where i'd have to shut down my whole computer and reboot. so i turned to safari. safari has been just as bad. i read somewhere that there these programs don't run very well on the intel macs at all. so then i decided run camino. i've only been using it for a few days now, and i haven't had any really serious issues with it...yet... | ||
