She's getting married.... Avril Lavigne to wed June 29, 2005 - 8:55AM Canadian pop-rocker Avril Lavigne will marry Deryck Whibley, her longtime boyfriend and frontman for the band Sum 41, her publicist said on Tuesday. "Yes, she is engaged. It's all good," Sean Cordner said, refusing to give any details of the upcoming wedding. According to a US magazine, Whibley, 25, proposed to the 20-year-old singer at the end of her European tour. The couple started dating in early 2004 after a long friendship. Both grew up in towns in the province of Ontario - Lavigne in Nepean and Whibley in Ajax - and have since achieved huge success both in Canada and abroad. Sum 41's latest album Chuck ranked in the top 10 albums of Billboard charts while Lavigne received five Grammy nominations for her debut album Let Go.
