There are a bunch of songs that I mostly know, but with one or two lines I haven't got a clue. Or I have a guess, which is really bad. Of course, I've tried looking up the lyrics online, with no success. In the case where I no neither the name nor of the song nor the artist, it's really hard to find anything. Google rarely answers questions like "what are the words to that song I heard once on that show that used to be on Thursday nights?" Someone here might be able to help me. The first song is one I heard on GNW (probably Nite Lite) years ago, and I can remember it all except the chorus. Paul sang it, with a band or something. The first line was "You look pretty, you look pretty, you look pretty smashed. I dig it, yeah I like it, when you look like that." The chorus was along the lines of "The drugs made me do it. But I ...something something something... I got through it. But the drugs made me do it again." Any one have a clue what I'm talking about (and more importantly, know what the line is?) The other one that has bugged me for a couple of years, is from a Gadflys song - It's Only Sound. From Out of the Bag. Chorus again, I haven't a clue what the chorus is. Just about the only line on the album I can't work out. "I never liked the way you cried out ..." is all I have. Muchos thanks if anyone can help.

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | That first song your talking about is The Drugs and is on the second GNW Cd. Here are the lyrics that I have. (Can't remember where I got them.) Hope this helps. The Drugs You look pretty, you look pretty You look pretty smashed I dig it, yeah I like it When you look like that Your make-up dissolving, dress riding high You gotta like your habit, oh my Chorus If we could just get our shit together Junkies could rule If we could find time with nothing to do If we could just get our shit together Junkies could rule Nah nah, nah-nah-nah-nah (x 4) The drugs (the drugs), the drugs (the drugs) The drugs made me do it But I got well praise be, thank God I got through It was the drugs (the drugs), the drugs (the drugs) The drugs made me do it again At your house while you work Stealing all that you own The TV and the VCR Computer, you know All your possessions are not the goal It's your son's and your daughter's and your self-control Repeat Chorus Gotta get out, gotta get out, gotta get out (x about 20!) The drugs (the drugs), the drugs (the drugs) The drugs made me do it But I got well praise be, thank God I got through It was the drugs (the drugs), the drugs (the drugs) The drugs made me do it again (x 2) Nah nah, nah-nah-nah-nah (x 4) The drugs!

| MOSH Regular | Thanks Amanda! I've never found a copy of that CD, but I had the episode taped. I had to cut short my post before because my internet access was running out. My guess at the chorus to It's Only Sound: I never liked the way you cried out in the midst of a cool embrace We grow old and wide apart with nothing in our hearts these feelings we have are just a disgrace It's the only sound that makes my head go round etc. Problem is, even if it is close enough to actual english, it doesn't quite fit the timing. And they only included lyrics on the other CDs. Incidentally, I picked up the Butterfly single second hand the other day, which I had no idea existed. Happy me. | ||
