I'm sure they'll work something out with Adam Richard. (He'll probably be used when Terri & Justin do the brekkie show again these holidays).

The only thing on JJJ I can actually bear to listen to is the Morning Show - and that's because the focus isn't on music. *prefers to listen to ABC Melbourne/Victoria anyway - particularly for Nightlife and the Challenge*

| MOSH Veteran | I dont' think I've listened to the J's for a good 2 years. The last time I went to listen to them.. I found I just couldn't.... not that much has changed in 2 years has it? I do however quite enjoy ABC NSW with Evenings and Nightlife.. when I remember to listen | ||

Reputation: ![]() ![]() Reputation Power: 9 | Isn't any radio station an alternative to JJJ? ![]() Edge is a Hobart only broadcaster? As in, they don't have any repeaters in other states? If/when I get broadband, I'll consider listening to the streaming version. Streaming music on dialup is (mostly) a joke.... And I 'need' the bandwidth too much to 'waste' it on music. ![]() I am into many types of music and do enjoy the odd song on Triple J... The problem lies with enjoyment of, at best, 1 in 10 songs. Which equates to (maybe) 6 minutes an hour of worthwhile tunes? And when the presenters blow as well? At least with Chris and Craig the talky bits are covered. ![]()

Reputation: ![]() Reputation Power: 4 | fair enough although with most people 1 in ten songs such! yeah we don't get relayed in other states although i have listneed to it via the web in dial up and it's ok.. by alternative i meant true alternative to the same market. Ie a magic mix station or commercial chart station isn't a true alternative becasue it isn't competing for the same audience. Edge Radio is competing for JJJ's hoabrt audience. And doing quite well, althouh obviously not as well as the J's. We tend to play some of what the J's play but try and cover more local music, some older stuff and a lot of independent artists or underground stuff can you give me an example of some of your favourite bands? I'm really curious!

| I really really enjoyed Triple J circa 1992. For me, the days of Maynard were really the best. A nice mix of Aussie and International alternative both past and present (if anyone saw Wil Anderson hosting Rage, thats the type of music I'm talking about). I understand why the change in direction (new stuff gets hyped, whatever... music styles change), but I can't understand the need for rap on Triple J. I always pictured the J's as covering guitar based bands and a little bit of dance music (usually on a special dance music show). Rap and dance are the domains of your Nova, 2 day FM, etc etc I was really hoping that my old haunting ground of FBI radio in Sydney would have filled the void, but its concentrating a bit much on dance and rap as well, so wheres the real alternative? At the moment, the best I can get is 2SER and 2MMM. I long for station like XFM in london to start up here. | ||
