Having just got my copies today & after reading them I thought they were worth the wait & the money too (but then $60 on books is better than $60 on food - after eating food what have you got to show?)
I just want to know what other MOSHers that have it, though of Paul's first 'children's book'.

PS. Can't wait till 'The Girl Who Swallowed Bees' & 'The skeleton Dreams' come out. I like the names already.
(but that's just my weird self)

I had a quick skim through in the ABC shop, and I absolutely loved the drawings, they are so good. The story is good as well, but i was wondering why they put it in the humour section because it is meant to be a children's book...oh and i had a little chuckle about the www.paulmcdermott.com joke too.

and on the back cover of the book it said he is the voice of JJJ. he hasn't done any stuff on JJJ for a couple of years though, so how can he be the voice?

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but then I still read Dr Seuss when I feel depressed * *I thought the story flowed really well but sadly it didn't give the kiddies nightmares as promised *???

I'm sorry, but I no longer trust marshmallows.

I liked the whole package.  Loved the drawings and the words did flow very well.  Unfortunately it is a little like McDermott himself - you can't pigeonhole it and for sales, sometimes these things need to be classified.  Hence the placement of it in the Comedy section when it ain't really comedy.

you haven't really felt the book until Paul reads it to you himself, now that was exelent, even when he changed it around abit.

He read it to you!? Cool! Was this at a book signing?

I'm presuming that the story is the same as the movie, in which case I can certainly imagine Ruth Cracknell narrating it.

I couldn't get the line '[i:post_uid0]half dead, unfed on weary feet, we joyously explored[/i:post_uid0]' out of my head when I watched Lord of the Rings.
*laugh*
Or when I'm looking for something in the storeroom at work.

Beautifull book, and the best part about it is its short, which means I can read it before I go to sleep...
or read it several times in a row as I did on Christmas day when trying to avoid the relo's.

Yea... what is it with that line "[i:post_uid0]half dead, unfed on weary feet, we joyously explored[/i:post_uid0]"
It just sticks in your head! I was going to have it as my signature for awhile there, but then I never got around to it. That has to be my favourite line of the book.
Hmm..

I read a positive review on it today at Readers Feast, it was one of the "Staff's choice" books

i believe its a joke, i think, maybe sarcasim, Paul did actually explain a few parts to us that were meant to be funny, but only because we didnt laugh.

He read it at the basement, he was there with james olachlan to review the book, but judging by the amount of books he had with him, id say he was there to flog off afew as well.

it rocked he and james had an arguement with some of the audience, and at one point he started reciting his "i hate" poem, loved it.
