Adam Bloom Article/Reviews - latest 8/7/5

from here: http://www.paramountcomedy.com/livec...ile~Adam-Bloom

Adam Bloom was 18 months old when his parents nicknamed him “The Voice”! When he was 10, he told them he was going to be a comedian. By the age of 23, he was.

He has appeared in Comedy Festivals all over the world, including numerous sell out Edinburgh shows. At the 1998 Festival Adam was featured in Channel 4’s “Edinburgh or Bust” (Angel Eye) and he also won the Polygram Punters’ Comedy Award for his show. He has recorded and filmed sets for all of the radio and TV stand up shows (including the "The World Comedy Tour") and participated in the BBC children’s comedy show “Stitch Up”.

Adam's first radio series, "The Problem With..." was hugely successful on Radio 4 last year and he has just finished recording a second series.

Adam Bloom is undoubtedly one of Britain’s most exciting and original stand-up comedians. He has performed sell-out solo shows at the ‘96, ’97, ’98, ’99, 2001 & 2004 Edinburgh Festivals and in February - March 1999 he performed a twenty-nine date solo tour of Britain. Adam has also performed at comedy festivals in Montreal, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, Kilkenny and Cape Town. He was recently part of the Just For Laughs Comedy Tour 2004 where he performed to over 42,000 people in 17 cities across Canada. In July 2005, Adam will make his forth trip to Canada with Just For Laughs where he'll be performing as part of the 2005 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. Adam is currently working on his third BBC Radio 4 series, ‘The Problem with Adam Bloom’ which is due to be broadcast in November - December 2005.

Drunk Midget to even Drunker Chick - Have you ever had anyone go up on you before?

Son: Is there anything we can do to get Buffy back?
Mom: Well, we could join together in prayer.
Son: Uh huh. Is there anything useful we can do?
Mom: No.

A Bloomin' good time

By Karen Slater
Adam Bloom talks to Gobstopper about his gig at the Arc in Stockton as well as his up and coming radio program.

Somewhere between McDonald's meal sales and nestling birds, Adam Bloom talks about his success at the Edinburgh festival and his love of heckles.

You've got quite a reputation to live up to haven't you?

Have I?

Well according to your website you have.

Oh yes, but you've got to remember, a person's website is always written by that person.

And I forgot I wrote "I am great"

You've had six shows at Edinburgh before and you've always done really well. But you're not there this year, why's that?

I'm busy writing six half hour shows for Radio 4, going out in October.

Rob Rouse, Hatty Hayridge, Stefano Paolini and Alfie Joey are all in it, all of the shows have themes.

It's about everyday things, reading, technology, just things I have to tackle every day.

So should we be expecting similar stuff from you tomorrow night? What's your show like these days?

I never go on stage with a routine, I'm like a DJ with a box of records really, I just go onstage and pull them out in random order.

To hear more about Adam's show, his dislike of the word 'fiancé' and his feelings about Jimmy Carr, click on the interview link at the top right of this page.

Mark Drury and Bob Fischer host Gobstopper every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm on Radio Cleveland 95FM.
