Found a little bit about GNW in the Hot Goss section of this week's TV Week (Aug 27 - Sept 2, 2005).

Next year will be the 10th anniversary of Good News Week making its debut, and there are whispers that Network Ten is planning a cast reunion. It's been five years since we last saw the comedy hit featuring Julie McCrossin, Mikey Robins and Paul McDermott on our screens.

I didn't think it was that bad when it moved to ten. I know I may be in the minority but eh. The only thing that really bugged me was the promotional stuff they sometimes did before getting on with the game. Like talking about a new movie, book or even showing a clip of the new movie, like they did for Ben Elton's movie.

In relation to the reunion, it's going to be till next year, so I'm not really hold my breath for it. It would be good if they do do it though.

Now really guys....This is good.

It will only be a one stop show but at least we will see Paul, Mikey and Julie together again and that is something I would really not like to miss. I haven't seen Julie or Mikey for a while and I do miss the chemistry between those three.

Though I do admit the ABC did something for GNW but it's one of the best shows we could have after all it's not like comedy shows have been overly successful since then except for Rove, The Glasshouse and Spicks & Specks.

I think channel ten have a lot of gall doing an anniversary reunion for a show they stole from the abc, but I don't think a reunion show would necessarily suck. If it was in the style of the oldold abc stuff, it could be fun...just as long as it was a one-off. The GNW specials they kept doing to fulfill their contract with ten, that only had the slightest connection to the original show (Kate Fischer's one springs to mind) were just...sad. Trying to milk too much out of the show would be an insult to the good show it was and the people who watched it.

And if they tried to make it longer than an hour, tops, I'd find the person responsible and beat them to death with a video of one of the hour-and-a-half torture sessions they were pumping out weekly by the end...channel ten people clearly don't believe that less is more...

I'd much rather GNW productions do the reunion at Aunty. Does Ch 10 actually own the rights?

Anything to get Paul to sing on television again. I could reminisce fondly for my misspent youth.
