Lucy remains amazed that Riley and Turner "had a shocking time" trying to get their show accepted by ABC TV.

I assume the people in charge had seen "Big Girl's Blouse" and were understandably reluctant. Perhaps Judith missed it. :lookarou:

Lynda the Lionheart

COMEDIAN Dave Grant remembers Lynda Gibson as "fearless".

"When Kennett was in power she used to come out to crowds of a couple of hundred and say, 'Now I know what a primary school teacher feels like.' "

Others backstage at the Lynda Gibson Memorial Comedy Event at Prahran Town Hall on Wednesday night recalled Gibson's humour during her battle with ovarian cancer, which ended last year.

"She used to always say, 'It's go go go in oncology'," said friend Sally-Anne Upton who kicked off the inaugural event, featuring Judith Lucy, Dave O'Neil, Rod Quantock and Denise Scott, and organised by OvCa Australia (which Gibson co-founded). Scott remembered working with Gibson and Lucy on their last show.

"Lynda brought in her death scene. We were like "@#$%!" but she was so courageous. It was about Lynda dying and who she wanted there. Then Judith and I have this big fight about who's going to do the eulogy because of the people who are going to be at the gig and we want work. It was amazingly prophetic because there was a bit of jostling for eulogy position."

OvCa co-founder and swimming champ Nicole Livingstone remembers "stuffing envelopes on the floor of the Rydges Hotel in Richmond" to spread the message about the disease. "As Lynda would say, 'If in doubt, check your ovaries out.' "

Drunk Midget to even Drunker Chick - Have you ever had anyone go up on you before?

Son: Is there anything we can do to get Buffy back?
Mom: Well, we could join together in prayer.
Son: Uh huh. Is there anything useful we can do?
Mom: No.
